Is copper tape actually worth it, or is it a myth?

It works best as an unbroken band around pots and raised-bed rims, where slugs get a small reaction off the copper and turn back. In open ground it's far less reliable, and a determined slug will sometimes cross a tarnished or gappy strip. Treat it as a good barrier for containers, not a whole-garden fix.
